The Oberschule am Sonnenberg in Berge held its annual “Career Orientation Project Week” for all students in the 8th and 9th grades from November 11th to 14th, 2019. The aim of this week is to make the participating young people more aware of their own abilities and interests, to inform them about career opportunities and to provide assistance with career orientation.
The first information event took place on November 11, 2019. Our partner Dr. Karsten Quint visited the young people in their classes and introduced SEGLER and our training occupations.
The next day, our trainees visited the students of the 8th grade and demonstrated practical activities of the professions with the help of the work equipment they had brought with them (welding table and CAD workstation).
On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, the young people from the 9th grade visited us. After being welcomed by Dr. Quint, the company tour took place. Starting with design and sales, through to production and shipping, the class was able to gain interesting impressions of SEGLER and get to know the apprenticeships.
At the end of the project week, on the presentation day on November 14, 2019, the young people prepared presentations based on their experiences, which were presented to company representatives, parents and teachers in the evening.
We are looking forward to taking part in the project week again next year and would like to take this opportunity to thank all trainees and employees who took part in the practical project and the company tour!
