Health scouts from SEGLER equip the entire production facility with ergonomic chairs.
In November 2017, the two trainees Sina and Hendrik were made aware of the topic of corporate health management (CHM) and training to become health scouts by the managing director Thomas Neteler. After successfully completing the training at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the question arose as to where there was room for improvement at SEGLER.
They identified the existing workshop chairs as an important point. These were often just stools, had foam pads that started to smoulder during welding and often could not be adjusted to the body size of the employees.
Sina and Hendrik asked their colleagues about the requirements and various manufacturers about the state of the art. Finally, different models were ordered and tested in practice with their colleagues. Two models were selected: wooden chairs are now used at the welding workstations and hard foam chairs are used in the assembly area. It is particularly important to both of them that the new chairs are robust, functional and ergonomically adjustable.
Through their initiative, our health scouts have made an important contribution to improving health and well-being in the workshop. They can be rightly proud of this.
