Sheet steel is a versatile semi-finished product with special properties. In the one-hour workshops, the twenty-four participants discovered what sheet metal actually is and how SEGLER comes about. They then moved on to the various process steps. What do you have to pay attention to when nesting sheet metal parts? How are parts cut out of the sheet metal? How hot is a plasma jet? Which machines and tools can be used to shape sheet metal? How are several sheets of metal connected to one another?
First, we gathered together the previous knowledge. The children often already knew a surprising amount, reports Dr. Quint. After that, there was a supplementary short presentation with a video and a task. The last task was to make a SEGLER elephant or a SEGLER car out of sheet metal. Each proud sheet metal worker could then take the result home with them.
Partner Dr. Karsten Quint was pleased with the active participation of the young “students” and invited them to try out welding together with the SEGLER trainees at the next trainee fair.
