SEGLER meets climate responsibility and increased customer requirements through resource-efficient work and the digitalization of critical processes. Dr. Quint informs the Young Liberals Osnabrück about this and discusses technology and politics with them.

Climate change is a very serious challenge that must be tackled today and not left to future generations. There are already many technical solutions that significantly reduce CO2 emissions and are already economical under the current conditions. In 2016, SEGLER set out towards resource-saving production with its energy consultancy for medium-sized companies.

Since then,
• Compressed air optimization
• Training and raising awareness of employees for optimized user behavior
• Conversion of lighting in production to LED
• Intelligent lighting control
• Conversion of the circulating air oil heating in production to infrared dark radiators
• Predictive control of heating in the new office building
• Climate workshop for SEGLER trainees
• Promoting healthy and climate-friendly commuter traffic with the SEGLER bike

Still planned for this year are
• Move to well-insulated modern production halls
• Further training of two trainees to become energy scouts at the IHK Osnabrück
• Installation of a rotary pickling plant
• Installation of a PV system

At SEGLER, resources are saved not only through new technology, but also through intelligent digitalization. The basis for this is always well thought-out processes and good organization, which are developed together. The new structures can often be implemented inexpensively with digital tools. In some cases, ready-made solutions, e.g. in the area of C-parts management, can be purchased on the market. SEGLER often relies on its own solutions, which are developed and programmed in-house. It is also important to keep an eye on data security.

The Young Liberals from Osnabrück are also very interested in these topics. The deputy state chairman for program and fundamental issues, Nemir Ali, organized the meeting and started a lively discussion. Important aspects of CO2 pricing were introduced by the district chairman Linus Körbi, who thanked everyone warmly at the end.
