In a dynamic industrial environment where heavy machinery is maneuvered and material flows are coordinated on a daily basis, safety is a top priority. It is the invisible basis for efficient processes and the protection of the most valuable asset: our employees. At SEGLER, we do not see occupational safety as a duty to be fulfilled, but as an active and continuous improvement process. An excellent example of this is the safeguarding of our own company premises.
The challenge: a new terrain, a new responsibility
As part of the modernization and standardization of our company premises, a new topographical situation arose: a clearly defined height difference to the adjacent Friedrich-Segler-Straße and to our employee parking lot. As part of our proactive risk assessment, it quickly became clear that even though this height difference may seem small in many places, it poses a considerable risk. A driving error with a forklift truck or a truck could lead to a fall with serious consequences for man and machine.
The solution: A clear line for safety
Waiting was not an option. In order to consistently eliminate this danger, we opted for a comprehensive and robust solution: the installation of solid steel crash barriers along the entire endangered open area. These crash barriers serve as passive restraint systems that absorb the kinetic energy of a vehicle in an emergency and thus prevent a fall. They not only define a physical boundary, but also create a safe and clearly structured traffic zone in which driving errors are intercepted before they can lead to serious accidents.
From your own practice to understanding the customer
Our experience shows that such or similar hazards exist in countless industrial and commercial facilities. Whether at loading ramps, between internal traffic routes and storage areas or at level differences in the depot - the risks are omnipresent.
The installation of crash barriers and other collision protection systems is one of the most effective measures for minimizing risk. They protect not only personnel, but also buildings, machinery and stored goods from costly damage. This in-depth understanding of the practical safety requirements in a production plant flows directly into the planning and implementation of our customer projects. Because we know: True efficiency begins with a safe working environment.
