We look back on the Nordkreis Company Day 2025. Around 170 guests came to our plant in Berge: a new record was set. The Company Day has long since established itself as a fixture for business, politics and institutions, and we are delighted to have hosted it this year.
An evening full of inspiration
The company tours started at 5 pm. We at SEGLER opened our production facilities and gave the guests an insight into our production. At the same time, Fürstenauer Wärme GmbH offered guided tours. Many visitors took the opportunity to find out on site how we at Berge build machines that are used all over the world.
The official part of the event began at 7 pm. The guests were welcomed by our Managing Director Thomas Neteler, Nils Schnieders (Regionalmanagement Leader NOL), Klaus Herdemann (Samtgemeinde Fürstenau), Dimitri Gappel (Mayor Berge) and Matthias Wübbel (Mayor Samtgemeinde Fürstenau).
In his speech, Thomas Neteler highlighted the current challenges for companies in Germany: low economic growth compared to other countries and too much bureaucracy. His appeal to politicians was clear: Something has to changevia Brussels, Berlin, Hanover, Osnabrück, Fürstenau and here to Berge.
In particular, he referred to Christian Calderone (Member of the State Parliament) and Lutz Brinkmann (Member of the German Parliament), who were both present.
At the same time, Thomas Neteler pointed out the direction for SEGLER: Our foundation remains mechanical engineering. Nevertheless, it is crucial to develop further business areas. With our new IT division and a photovoltaic system with a peak output of 3 MW, we are setting clear signals for the future viability of our company.
The panel discussion began at 8 p.m.: Moderated by Axel Kolhosser (WIGOS), Thomas Neteler, Bernd Haverkamp (Fürstenauer Wärme), Dr. Benedikt Nolte and Ingo Pläster (IWT) discussed the opportunities presented by the use of AI.
We at SEGLER are already active in this area and are leading the way: our own AI is fed with all business transactions from the last 20 years. This gives us a solid database that enables us to optimize processes, make decisions faster and automate routine tasks. This makes us more efficient and strengthens our competitiveness.
From 8:15 p.m., the focus was on personal exchange. Over food and drinks, organized by the Heilpädagogische Hilfe Bersenbrück, many valuable conversations, new contacts and concrete ideas for the future were made. The networking concept that the Nordkreis Business Day stands for was particularly evident here.
Thanks and outlook - Nordkreis Company Day
We would like to thank the regional management of the LEADER Region Nördliches Osnabrücker Land, Nils Schnieders, and the joint municipality of Fürstenau, Klaus Herdemann, for the excellent organization. The Northern District Business Day 2025 has shown how important cooperation and exchange are in our region.
Next year, the joint municipality of Bersenbrück will take on the role of host. After this successful evening, the anticipation is already great. For us at SEGLER, the day will remain a special memory: as a signal for the innovative strength of SMEs, for the importance of our region and for the opportunities that we will exploit through new technologies such as AI.
