As part of a school-to-school cooperation with the secondary school in Berge, a special project was created at SEGLER: Students worked for several weeks on the planning and production of two stainless steel wave loungers for their school's playground – with practical support from our trainees.
The project kicked off with a joint meeting at our company in early October 2024. In addition to an exciting tour of the facility, initial designs for the future sun loungers were discussed. The students contributed their ideas, and our trainees supported them with technical expertise – a successful exchange on equal terms.
Then the project became a reality: For several weeks, two groups of students visited our company every Wednesday. Together with our apprentices, they learned basic craftsmanship techniques – including sawing, deburring, joining components according to drawings, welding, and grinding. Step by step, the two finished wave loungers were created – unique pieces, crafted with great dedication and passion.
On April 2, 2025, the time had come: The finished benches were delivered to OBS Berge. On May 28, we celebrated the small inauguration together with the school – a wonderful conclusion to a project that not only beautified the schoolyard but also inspired young people to pursue crafts.
