For the retirement gathering on October 7, 2026, SEGLER all former colleagues who are currently retired have been invited. 24 retirees have signed up. Together, they bring over 900 years of professional experience, accumulated at SEGLER in Berge & Quakenbrück. For the first time in over 900 years, professional experience was brought together in one place.
The group was mixed with a variety of backgrounds. Some former employees have already been retired for a long time. Others still work as retirees today SEGLER and know the company from its current perspective. The joy was great already at the beginning of the meeting when we saw old friends again.
Pensioner meeting with a tour of the factory: This is how it has SEGLER changed
It began with a tour of the facility with operations manager Thorsten von der Heyde. He showed and explained what had been done structurally over the past ten years, especially in the halls. Many of them still knew these halls from their own work routine. The greater the astonishment was over how they had developed SEGLER in recent years.
The group stopped at many places. They compared today with the past, asked questions and recalled their own workplace. Thorsten von der Heyde took the time for each answer. For some it was a reunion with the old workplace, for others it was a look at changes they themselves had experienced.
As we traveled, conversations quickly began to take place. Old anecdotes circulated, often accompanied by hearty laughter. Stories from the past were told, supplemented and passed on. Behind each of these stories are people who have left their mark SEGLER through their work. Together, they have completed well over a million hours of work for the company.. This exact experience is the foundation on which we stand SEGLER today. The most important milestones can be found in our brochure. Company history.
Shared evening in the old home
At 18:00, we continued on to Old home There Berge, the conversations were deepened in a relaxed atmosphere. Old friends sat together at the same table again. A lot was talked about, a lot was laughed about, and some stories from the afternoon were continued.
In addition, the retirees were honored and colleagues who recently retired were bid farewell.
It is clear to us: Anyone who has SEGLER worked for years and decades also belongs in retirement.. The work of our former employees is a big part of what SEGLER Today is the day. We will not forget this achievement, even though the last working day has already passed a long time ago.
The meeting showed how connected our retirees still feel to the company today. They were happy to see old colleagues again. They felt at SEGLER ease. They saw that their business is continuing to grow. We are committed to continuing to maintain that in the future as well.
Thank you to all former employees for a very nice retirement gathering and for the many stories. Special thanks go to Christine Paul for co-organizing the event and to Thorsten von der Heyde for the tour. We look forward to seeing you again!
