As part of a staff evening, 32 members of the Berge Volunteer Fire Department visited our facility. During a joint tour, we presented key topics related to safety and hazard prevention and provided insight into our operational procedures. For emergency responders, familiarity with local conditions is a crucial factor in being able to act quickly and safely in an emergency.
The focus was on the overview and storage of hazardous substances, as well as the risks they pose. We showed where these substances are stored and what special precautions must be taken when handling them. In addition, we explained the special first-aid facilities on site that are available in case of an emergency.
Another focus was the energy supply after the restructuring at the site. Here, we demonstrated how the supply is structured and which areas are relevant for the fire department in case of an emergency. The existing technical and flammable gases and their storage were also part of the inspection, allowing the comrades to get a precise picture of the facilities.
The goal of the evening was to raise awareness among emergency responders about potential hazards at the site and to further strengthen their ability to act in an emergency. The direct, on-site exchange made it possible to clarify open questions immediately and to consolidate cooperation between the company and the fire department.
We would like to thank the Berge Volunteer Fire Department for their dedication and excellent cooperation. The volunteer efforts of our fellow firefighters make a valuable contribution to safety in our region.
